Ontario- Prince Edward County Winery Tour- Countylicious

Prince Edward County

November 7-8, 2024

Join Travac on a Gastronomic Tour of The County!

Come and explore Ontario’s newest wine country! Prince Edward County, otherwise known as “The County”, is a rural hotspot with over 40 wineries, a growing craft-beer scene, cider, spirits and fabulous farm to table cuisine.

Prince Edward County is a cultural mosaic of early colonial Canada. Its earliest European settlers were loyalists traveling north from the American Colonies. These early settlers created a culture that remains magnetic to this very day. The simple, laid back lifestyle that is found in the county still resonates through its hills, valleys and waterways.

Travac Tours wants you to follow the Taste Trail with us and discover some of the best food and drink in “The County”. We will be visiting during the county’s Countylicious event, which highlights Prince Edward County’s varied culinary landscape and local producers making farm-to-table fare with special menus. Enjoy your night stay in Picton, the largest community in the county. Explore the small village of shops and farm to table restaurants.

Your 2-day package includes: deluxe motorcoach transportation, 1 night at The Picton Harbour Inn with breakfast, 2 wine tastings, 1 spirts tasting, 1 beer tasting and 1 cider tasting, dinner at Flame + Smith Restaurant for their Countylicious Menu, lunch at Waupoos Estate Winery for their Countylicious Menu, and the services of a Travac Tours Director.

Quebec- Gaspé Peninsula

August 21-26, 2025

The fabled Gaspé region of Quebec is a portrait of rugged coastlines, peaceful fishing havens and pleasant valleys.  Much of the region hasn’t changed a great deal since it was visited by Jacques Cartier in 1534. Its appeal today is driven by tourists who come for its untouched natural beauty and the romantic charm of its villages and their residents.

Join Travac Tours as we explore this region of maritime Quebec.  Your holiday will include visits to fabled Perce Rock, Bonaventure Island and one of the most beautiful gardens in North America, Reford Gardens. This fantastic tour includes 4 nights accommodation, breakfast daily, guided tours including Perce Rock and the services of a Travac Tour Director.

Tour Itinerary

Day 1

This morning you will depart Westgate Shopping Centre and make our way through Montreal and follow the
south shore of the St. Lawrence River to Rivière-du-Loup, Quebec. A lunch stop will be made enroute. Rivière-du-Loup has a proud history that dates back to 1673. Today, it is a great stopping point for our visit to Gaspé.

Expect to arrive at your hotel in the late afternoon.

Day 2

This morning, we will begin our journey into the heart of the Gaspé Peninsula. Our travels will take us through
picturesque villages and pleasant maritime scenery. Gaspé itself is a peninsula along the south shore of the
Saint Lawrence River. Its name comes from a Mi’kmaq word meaning Land’s End. The actual size of the
Gaspé Peninsula is close to that of Belgium, but its population is less than 100,000. Today you will enjoy a visit to the Cascapedia Museum where you will learn about the history and foundation of the salmon fishing culture in the region. Expect to arrive at your hotel in the late afternoon. After you check in to your hotel, you will be free to enjoy the surrounds of the charming seaside village of Percé. (B)

Day 3

Your day will begin with a visit to Bonaventure Island by boat (weather permitting). The island is one of the
largest and most accessible bird sanctuaries in the world. It was also one of the most important fishing ports of New France in the 17th century. Your day will also include a tour of this part of the Gaspé region. You will have the opportunity to see Percé Rock up close. This rock formation was first named by Samuel de Champlain in 1607. From a distance the rock looks like a ship under sail. It is also one of the world’s largest natural arches and attracts tourists from around the world. After your tour, the remainder of your day will be free. (B)

Day 4

Today you will enjoy a free day to take in the beauty of the region. Your Travac Tours Director will have ideas of ways to fill your day. (B)

Day 5

Leaving Percé, we will travel through the Gaspé Peninsula following the north shore of the peninsula as we travel to Rimouski. Along the way, we will make a stop at Reford Gardens. Originally a fishing camp, Reford gardens has been transformed into one of the most beautiful gardens in Canada by the several generations of the Reford family. Today the gardens feature over 3,000 species and varieties of plants, all living in a picturesque setting that is assisted by an unusual area microclimate. The magic of these gardens will certainly be a highlight of our holiday. In the late afternoon, we arrive at our hotel for the evening. (B)

Day 6

We will begin our journey home after breakfast. Expect to arrive in Ottawa in the evening. (B)
