Your holiday begins in Portugal’s Algarve province. With its magnetic Moorish appeal, the Algarve has become a Mecca for snowbirds trying to escape the harsh reality of winter. It’s also one of Europe’s most picturesque and friendly holiday destinations. The Algarve is what most of us envision the Mediterranean to be. The whitewashed villages cascade into the sea. Cobblestoned streets are lined with outdoor cafes, bistros, wine bars, and markets full of fresh fruits and vegetables. The weather is wonderfully spring-like and invigorating.
From Portugal, you will be transferred to Spain by private motorcoach. The Costa del Sol region of southern Spain is remarkable for its diverse landscapes, fabulous beaches and coastal sites as well as a wealth of small villages that dot the shore line. This Mediterranean coastline is one of Europe’s most popular holiday destinations, hosting millions of tourists on an annual basis. Villages have grown into robust towns with great restaurants, shopping and nightlife. The area’s history dates back thousands of years and it has developed a unique and warm culture that defines the region. Whether this is your first visit to the Costa del Sol or you have enjoyed its pleasures in the past there is always something new to discover.
Tour Itinerary
Day 1
Depart Canada
Today you will depart from Ottawa (Carlingwood Mall) to the Montreal airport by private motor coach with your Travac Tours Director. Upon arrival at the airport, your Travac Tours Director will help you with check-in for your flight. Your flight with Air Transat from Montreal to Lisbon. Our office staff will be happy to give you more flight details
Day 2
Arrival in Portugal
Upon arrival at the Lisbon airport, your Travac Tours Director will lead you to your private motor coach where you will be transferred to your hotel in the Algarve.
Hotel for the next 11 nights: Turim Presidente or similar.
Day 2 - 13
Portimão, Portugal
Nestled along the stunning Algarve coastline, Portimão is renowned for its spectacular beaches, dramatic limestone cliffs, and crystal-clear waters. From the iconic Praia da Rocha to hidden coves and impressive sea caves, this vibrant coastal destination offers some of Portugal’s most breathtaking scenery. Be sure to sample the local cuisine, including fresh seafood, grilled sardines, cataplana, chicken piri-piri, olives, almonds, and traditional Portuguese desserts.
Your time in Portugal will be free to spend as you wish. Your Travac Tours Director will be available to provide suggestions on how to make the most of your stay and will organize optional outings throughout your time here. Breakfast and dinner are included daily at the Turim Presidente hotel.
Organized optional tours will also be available. Details and costs of these tours will be presented to you on your second day in Portugal. All payments for these tours must be made in Euros (cash only). Please note that once payment has been made, it is non-refundable.
Day 13
Transfer from Portugal to Spain
Today you will check-out of your hotel in Portugal to make your way to Spain by private motorcoach. Driving time is approximately 6 hours, with a washroom and a lunch stop en route. Upon arrival at your hotel in Spain, your Travac Tours Director will assist with check-in.
Hotel for the next 9 nights: Hotel Ocean House
Day 13 - 22
Costa del Sol, Spain
The Hotel Ocean House is a four-star beachfront resort hotel located in the popular holiday town of Torremolinos in the Costa del Sol region of southern Spain. All accommodations have bedrooms and separate sitting rooms with their own terrace. Breakfast and dinner are included daily at the Ocean House.
From Torremolinos, the towns of Benalmádena, Málaga, Fuengirola, Mijas, Malaga, and Marbella can be easily reached by public transportation. Shopping opportunities are extensive. There are also local markets in each village that operate on different days of the week.
During your holiday in Spain, your Travac Tours Director will organize optional activities and provide assistance in booking optional tours ($). Optional tours are paid locally in Euros, and once paid are non-refundable. A listing of these tours along with costs are only available locally once in Spain.
Day 23
Return to Canada
Today you will be transferred to the Malaga airport via private coach for your direct flight with Air Transat from Malaga to Montreal. Upon arrival at the Montreal airport, you will be transferred back to Ottawa (Carlingwood Mall) by private motorcoach. Your Travac Tours Director will keep you updated as to your flight details.
