Day 1

Depart Ottawa on your flight(s) to Sydney.

Flights are booked by Oceania – schedule available approximately 75 days prior to sailing

Day 2

Sydney, Australia (boarding time 1pm; depart 6 pm)

In Sydney, you will be met at the arrivals gate by your Oceania representative and transferred to the ship. There will be no Travac representative escorting you, but Oceania will ensure that your transfer and boarding goes smoothly.

Visit the famous Opera House, stroll along the harbor or cruise around it. Climb the Harbor Bridge, take a walk through the Rocks where Sydney began, or enjoy celebrated Bondi Beach. Head into the beautiful Blue Mountains for a taste of the country; visit a wildlife park and enjoy Australia’s fabulously unique creatures. (D)

Day 4

Melbourne, Australia (arrive 8 am)

Head into the scenic Dandenong Mountains and ride the Puffing Billy steam train through the forest. Meet the koalas, wallabies and more at a wildlife park or explore local wineries. Take a walk and discover the city’s marvelous architecture, chic galleries and boutiques. (B, L, D)

Burnie (Tasmania), Australia (8am –5pm)

Nestled in the northwest corner of Tasmania, this energetic and creative seaside town offers a unique perspective on the world of industry. Once dependent on paper manufacturing, the inventive community has transformed its industry into a compelling art culture. Visit Makers’ Workshop, part museum and part arts center, for an introduction to the inspired spirit of Burnie, along with a tour of the process of papermaking and a glimpse of local artisans at work on their handicrafts. Discover Burnie’s natural gems on the many trails at Fern Glade Reserve or the picturesque Emu Valley Rhododendron Garden (B, L, D)

Dunedin, New Zealand (9 am – 6pm)

Discover the rugged, beautiful Otago Peninsula, filled with geological wonders, and gaze in awe at the great albatross with its 10-foot wingspan. Keep an eye out for fur seals and yellow-eyed penguins sunbathing on the rocks. Enjoy the amazing views and the enchanting gardens that surround the historic 19th century Larnach Castle. Splendid Victorian and Edwardian stone buildings are a highlight of a tour of Dunedin. (B, L, D)

Day 11

Christchurch (Lyttelton), New Zealand (9am – 7pm)

Enjoy the scenic drive past quaint towns into Christchurch. Stroll through Cathedral Square and nearby gardens and savor the English atmosphere. Watch a sheep-shearing display or sample fine wines. Explore the Banks Peninsula and its dramatic landscape

Day 12

Wellington, New Zealand (8am – 5pm)

Stroll past Victorian Gothic buildings, visit the exquisite botanic gardens, take the cable car up the mountain for a fantastic view, or head for the city beach. Journey around the spectacular harbor with its amazing views and visit a sheep or cattle station. See some of the sites where the Lord of the Rings trilogy was filmed. (B, L, D)

Day 13

Napier, New Zealand (8 am – 5pm)

Spend time admiring the marvelous Art Deco architecture for which Napier is known. Enjoy the picturesque countryside, tour superb area vineyards and sample the vintages. Visit a huge nesting colony of gannets near the spot where Captain Cook landed. (B, L, D)

Day 14

Rotorua (Tauranga), New Zealand ( 12pm – 8pm)

Discover Tauranga’s lovely parks and history or head to Rotorua with its fabulous geysers, hot springs and Maori culture. Explore the Rangitaiki River and its amazing scenery. (B, L, D)

Day 15

Bay of Islands, New Zealand (10am – 7pm)

Relish the opportunities in this natural playground as you observe flying dolphins, gannets and blue penguins. The diving is renowned as some of the best in the world. Visit the historic Waitangi Treaty House, where the founding document of New Zealand was signed. (B, L, D)

Day 16

Auckland, New Zealand

After breakfast, Oceania will transfer you from the ship to the airport for your flights home. (B)
