Annually, millions of tourists flock to the Big Apple  in seek of a city retreat; to walk along Manhattan’s storied Streets and Avenues; to sample its modern mix of cultural attractions; and to experience first-hand its unparalleled entertainment. You will stay in the heart of midtown Manhattan; Most tours in our price category will usually stay in New Jersey, a definite disadvantage to those who wish to experience Manhattan to its fullest. Staying in Manhattan means easy accessibility by foot to all of the wonderful sights, sounds, and tastes of downtown New York.

Our tour of New York will direct you through the maze of Manhattan. You’ll have a chance to visit the Lower East Side, the Garment District, and even look for knock-off bargains on Canal Street.

Travac’s New York holiday includes round trip transportation via private chartered coach; 4 nights accommodation in Manhattan; a four-hour city tour of New York; and services of a knowledgeable Travac Tours host.

Tour Itinerary


Day 1

Be at Westgate Mall by 6:00am at the latest. The tour guide will check your ID and give you luggage tags. At 6:30am the bus departs Westgate Shopping Centre. A lunch stop will be made en route. At 4:00pm you will arrive at your hotel. You will be free to explore your surroundings for the balance of your day.


Day 2

At 8:30am the bus departs your hotel for the city tour of New York. Your New York step on guide will provide you with a general orientation of this great city. The tour will take you to many parts of Manhattan, including: Harlem, Chinatown, Soho, Little Italy, the Garment District, Greenwich Village and the Empire State Building.  Stops will allow you to view Central Park and Ground Zero. We will also make our way to the Rockefeller Center, St. Patrick’s Cathedral and the Lincoln Center. At 12:30pm the tour will finish at the hotel. Your afternoon from this point onwards will be free. We suggest a visit to one of Manhattan’s great museums, such as the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Founded in 1870, the museum now comprises of over 236 galleries with over a million artifacts.


Day 3

Free day in New York to explore on your own.  Some suggestions are shopping on Canal Street or 5th Ave, view the city from the top of the Empire State Building, lunch in Little Italy, visit the World Trade Center Memorial Site or take a horse and buggy ride in Central Park.  Take advantage of ½ price theatre tickets at Times Square for a Matinee show.


Day 4

Today is another free day in the Big Apple. You may want to visit the Times Square Church, or check out flea markets and street fairs, or perhaps enjoy a Sunday brunch at the Plaza or Russian Tea Room. You may also want to participate in a free tour of Central Park (offered by Central Park Conservatory).


Day 5

This morning, you will again be free to explore Manhattan on your own. At 1:00pm the bus departs your hotel. Please ensure that you have paid for all incidental charges with the hotel before boarding the bus. En route we stop for dinner stop and at the Duty Free Store. The bus will arrive at Westgate Shopping Centre at approximately 10:30pm.
